Origin Story
The Shiv Purana itself states that it was first narrated by sage Vyasa to his son Suka and other disciples, compiling the glory of Lord Shiva across twelve sections known as Samhitas. It is believed that even Lord Brahma once recommended this very text to sage Narada as the surest path to attaining both worldly happiness and ultimate liberation, since it contains not just devotional stories but the deepest philosophical teachings on the nature of Shiva as pure consciousness.
